Christmas Enrichment

We had a wonderful dinner and fun socializing together as Relief Society sisters! We had 8 different tables decorated by amazing women: Elisa Anderson, Elaine Augustine, Monique Christiansen, Becky Kambourian, Sariah Kelly, Rachelle Moore, Carolyn Nelson and Merri Sorensen. The yummy dinner consisted of chicken cordon bleu, green beans, rice, salad, rolls and desserts. Various sisters in the ward provided the yummy rolls and desserts. Thanks to all of you for helping make the food! We also had two special musical numbers: Sister Freeman and her daughter Jessica played the violin with Sister Pearson on the piano the song "Bring A Torch Jeanette Isabella". And our closing song, "Mary's Lullaby," was sung by Wendy Eav, Rebecca Glathar, Angela Luke, Carolyn Nelson and Romie Olsen with Tiffini Taggart on the piano. It was beautiful! Brother Zitzman was our guest speaker and he did a great job with the topic from the scripture Matthew 1:23 which reads, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." We are so grateful for our bishopric - thank you Brother Zitzman! We want to also give a big thank you to our committee who helped plan and put the whole evening together: Loree Allison, Karen Ashman, Linda Chand, Karen Dupaix, Denise Jardine, Jennifer McPhie, Michelle Smith and Melanie Vanderhouven. We hope that you all had a fun evening with us.

Enrichment Night - Bread Making Class

We had Jeannie Dayton and her daughter Mindy Spencer come and teach us how to make bread from beginning to eating in one hour or less! Yum! http://how-to-make-bread.com/blog/ is their website to give you more information. We also have the recipe with the instructions below. If you want to order more lecithin or any of the products - please contact Jeannie Dayton. We hope that you are all baking up lots of yummy things for your families as well as using your food storage to make it! :)

Bread recipe: 10 1/2 cups white bread flour, 1/2 cup sugar1 tablespoon salt, 3 rounded tablespoons saf-instant yeast, 3 tablespoons liquid lecithin*, 4 cups hot tap water. Mix dry ingredients. Add lecithin and water. Mix for 1 minute and check consistency. If dough is too dry, add more water. Mix for 5 minutes. Note: Consistency should be like cookie dough & sticky! (Do not add water or flour to the dough after it has finished mixing.) Spray counter and pans with Pam. Shape loaves and cover with a dish towel. Let raise 25 minutes. Bake at 350* for 25 minutes. This recipe makes four loaves of bread. *Squeeze or pour approximately 3 tablespoons of lecithin directly into the bowl. Do not measure. (For whole wheat bread, use the same recipe but add one cup of applesauce as part of the hot tap water. Mix for ten minutes.)
